Are You an Action TAKER or an Action TALKER?

This may be overly simplistic, but to me there really are only 2 kinds of people in the world. You are either an action TAKER or an action TALKER. And all of us immediately know the difference – it’s the “L”, right?  But seriously…

Action TAKERs are the people who get an idea and act on it. It doesn’t matter what the idea is, it could be something as banal as deciding to go out to eat for dinner, or it could be something as life impacting as quitting a job and starting your own business.  The critical distinction here is that they DO something.  They move forward.  They TAKE Action.

Action TALKERs, on the other hand, are those who get an idea, mull it over, weigh it, consider it, analyze it to death, talk about it for days – months – years – lifetime, yet never reach the stage of action where they actualize that idea to make it reality.  Nothing real ever happens because this idea never gets out of their mind.  It’s easier this way.  Less risky.  Much safer.  Nothing to lose, no chance to take.  But nothing to gain either.  No change to be made.  For the Action TALKERs it’s SSDD, ever day.

The scary part about the Action TALKERs is that they can paint such an amazing picture of what they intend to do in their own heads that they actually believe the rationalization they are shoveling.  Sometimes it gets so deep and thick that those around them believe it too.  They key is this – where are they?  Have they gained traction?  Do they have forward momentum?  Are they marching on or marching in place?

What about you?  Do you know the difference in yourself?  Can you take a long hard look in the mirror and be brutally honest?

In the end it comes down to this – are you satisfied with where you are personally, physically, financially, health-wise, job-wise?  Or are you so tired of settling for the status quo, of not being where you want to be, of not achieving what you know you’re capable of that you are ready to make a change?  Do it NOW.  Don’t wait.  Don’t allow that feeling to be pushed back down and buried again.  That comfort you feel when you do that is false.

Warriors, take ACTION now.  Be Legendary.
