How Capable Are YOU?

It’s a good question to ask yourself – how capable am I?  What are my physical, mental, and spiritual strength limits?  How far can I really go?  What can I actually accomplish during this all too short ride called life?

The sad part is that the majority of the people out there will never know.

Time gets spent.

Time gets lost.

Time passes us by.

Eventually, time runs out.

Time is in fact out most precious and most limited resource.  So why do we waste it?

I remember back in my freshman year of college, I had this incredibly dynamic and, truth be told, slightly off the wall professor for an Introduction to World Religions course.  He told us something on the first day of class that I will never forget.  He said, “Do you all know that it takes less brain power to watch TV than it does to eat a bowl of cereal?  Why do you waste your time (and your lives) watching so much of it?”

Just as a side note here, watching any form of Reality TV, especially shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, not only uses zero brain power but I believe it actually makes you dumber for having participated in it.

So, back to the original question – what can you really do if you focus all your vast physical, intellectual, and spiritual resources?

Philosophers and Success Coaches alike all tell us that human potential is truly unlimited.  How can you prove this to be true?  Push, push push!  Don’t stop.  Keep going.

Here’s a simple 5 step plan for the rest of your life

  1. Wake up early every day
  2. Work hard to be awesome
  3. Push your limits – don’t ever settle
  4. Go to bed
  5. Repeat every day for the rest of your life

Your life is no different from any other successful person who has ever lived.  Every single day you have a choice to either be awesome or simply be mediocre.  Choose awesome and discover what you are truly capable of!

Great post Jon Haas! I will be 53 by July 1, and I love to wake up at 4 AM, and exercise along with my wife from 4.45 AM to 6.15 AM, six days a week. I then teach or practice martial/warrior arts from 6.30 AM to 7.30 AM. Best Wishes!
